Welcome to the March 2013 newsletter from the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) Knowledge Transfer Network and the Telecare Learning and Improvement Network. Our free monthly newsletter is distributed to 48,000 subscribers in the UK and worldwide via e-mail and archived at www.telecarelin.org.uk. You can also find highlights on Prezi (monthly) or Rebelmouse (daily). We hope that you find this newsletter useful. With over 1000 news and events links over the last month, it is the most comprehensive newsletter available serving the telecare, telehealth, mobile health, digital health and assisted living communities.

March was a busy conference month with the ALIP Showcase in Liverpool and Healthcare Innovation Expo in London showcasing a range of digital technology and services including the dallas and 3millionlives programmes. A new NHS health apps library was announced by the NHS Commissioning Board and there were several new product announcements at the Expo. NHS Change day (13 March 2013) saw over 182,000 pledges to improve services from NHS staff across the country. March also saw the launch of the Technology Strategy Board's 'Long Term Care Revolution' and Paper 6 (of 15) from the Whole System Demonstrator Programme was published on cost-effectiveness. The NHS major changes in England commence shortly on 1 April 2013 - 211 Clinical Commissioning Groups have now been authorised and will hold £65bn of NHS budget. April to July continues to be a busy time for conferences and events - we have a full listing including Health 2.0 in London and Manchester, the 4th Annual Conference on Telecare and Telehealth in Glasgow and the King's Fund Congress in July.

The links section is now available in a separate supplement rather than in the main newsletter (doc, pdf). A selection from this month's listing is covered in the newsletter. The newsletter contains a list of KTN/ALIP activities, conferences and workshops from the UK and Europe over the coming weeks as well as news from the UK and around the world. For weekly news, updates and information, you can register with the Technology Strategy Board, ALIP group and the DALLAS sub-group. You can follow the dallas programme on Twitter at @dallas_connect. 3 Million Lives is on Twitter at @3MillLives and also at LinkedIn.
